Euronext Amsterdam The Euronext Amsterdam team consists of over 120 professionals, located in the iconic exchange building at Beursplein 5. You will work in a team of six, with various responsibilities (web, communications, events, Amsterdam Exchange Experience). Every trading day at 9AM the gong is sounded to mark the opening of trading. The exchange invites prominent Dutch and international guests to take part in the gong ceremony. Job Profile Are you an Event Management, Communications or Marketing student that wants to build up experience in organising high-level events? This might be the opportunity you are looking for! Euronext is structured around a number of key business units, such as Cash and Derivatives trading, Market Data, Indices, Listings and Market Solutions, and several support functions, including Communications. The communications team is part of the Global Communications and Marketing team and is amongst others responsible for delivering events and conferences, both within Euronext’s home markets (Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon, London and Paris) and in other locations as required, as well as to present and maintain a positive public image of the company as a whole. The type of events delivered by the team varies between gong ceremonies to celebrate a market listing Job Title Events & Communications intern Duration Minimum of 20 Weeks, starting August/September 2018 Department and Location Global Marketing and Communications, Amsterdam Reports to Head of Stakeholders Communication to major conferences and dedicated workshops. As Events & Communications intern you can make a major contribution to the organisation of the daily gong ceremonies. From the first contact with the client, to the moment they are on stage to hit the gong. In addition you will perform additional marketing and communications tasks. You will work in an international team, with team members in Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon and Paris. Key Accountabilities • Important link in organizing high profile (gong) events and participating in multiple projects at the same time. • Contribute to setting up a database of past gong ceremonies and contacts. • Contribute to delivering events and conferences held in the Netherlands, for Euronext and its clients. This includes gong ceremonies, workshops or large scale events that support business and group objectives. You will do this in close cooperation with the businesses and the clients. • Provide and maximize visibility of the gong ceremonies and other events, by using our social media channels. • Ensure correct use of the corporate brand. • Coordinate event logistics; including guest lists, catering arrangements, presentation materials, audiovisual support, media services, webcasting, photography, security procedures, signage opportunities, gifts, etc. • Consult with colleagues in Brussels, Lisbon and Paris to ensure that there is consistency across the delivery of events and conferences in order to drive efficiencies. • Stay up-to-date with current issues and public opinion. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required • You are studying a relevant study (HBO/WO) in Event Management, PR/Communications, Marketing, Hotel School, or related field. • You are a native Dutch speaker but also fluent in English, other European languages are a bonus. • You have good communication skills and solid interpersonal skills. • You are ambitious, inquisitive and pro-active. • You have a strong attention to detail, accurate and pragmatic. • Customer focused and strong organizational skills. • You have good knowledge of Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint. • You are familiar with –and good understanding of the key aspects and applications of event management as a marketing vehicle and experience with PR and Social Media. • You are able to work independently, but you’re also a strong team player and enjoy working with cross-cultural teams. • Being familiar with financial markets and products is an advantage.
